DJ Matt Smooth co-founded hip hop experimental night Scratch in 1996 – spinning alongside live artists such as Jurassic 5, Mos Def, Saul Williams, Rammellzee, Common, De La Soul, Eminem, Mike Laad, Black Eyed Peas, Pharoahe Monch, Q-Bert, Dan The Automator, Prince Paul, Arthur Baker, Afrika Bambaataa, Madlib, Quasimoto, Biz Markie, Roxanne Shante, Big Daddy Kane, Peanut Butter Wolf, Lootpack, Anti-pop, Run DMC, Grand Master Flash, Mix Master Mike, The Roots, Roy Ayers, Kool Dj Herc, Roots Manuva, TY, Blak Twang, Rodney P, Mud Family – the list expanded as did the musical vibe, style & taste, playing all over the globe from London to Sydney, Brisbane to Las Vegas, Mumbai to Delhi, opening for musicians like Perry Farrell, Macy Gray, Outkast, Kylie Minogue & Disclosure.

A Bestival regular, Matt Smooth continues to share his vast collection of disco, rap, boogie & soul with a twist of electro weekly Friday’s 12-2pm on Soho Radio’s ‘Never Dug Disco’.
