|14th March 2019|
Walthamstow Rock ‘n’ Roll Book Club have been trying to entice Viv Albertine to Walthamstow since they starting hosting events. You can imagine then how thrilled we are to be able to announce that Viv will be coming to E17 in March.
Songwriter and musician Viv Albertine was the guitarist in cult post punk band The Slits. She was a key player in British counter-culture before her career in TV and film directing. Her first solo album The Vermilion Border was released in 2012, and her memoir, Clothes, Clothes, Clothes, Music, Music, Music, Boys, Boys, Boys was a Sunday Times, Mojo, Rough Trade, and NME Book of the Year in 2014 – ours too – as well as being shortlisted for the National Book Awards. To Throw Away Unopened is her most recent book and has also attracted enthusiastic reviews and book of the year nominations.
Viv will be in conversation with broadcaster/journalist Jude Rogers followed by audience questions and book signning.
Waterstones Walthamstow will be on hand with copies of Viv’s books.
We hope you can join us.
